Ontario Premier Doug Ford Provides COVID-19 Update | October 26

Today, the Ford government announced that they will be delivering the 2020 Budget on Thursday, November 5.

Minister of Finance Rod Phillips noted that the government had committed, at the release of Ontario’s Action Plan in March 2020, to deliver a full, multi-year Budget in November, and this Budget will live up to that promise. The Budget released on November 5 will be a three-year Budget that builds on the ongoing response to COVID-19.

The Budget will account for the uncertainty of the pandemic by incorporating three plausible economic scenarios into the projections.

In addition, Minister Phillips also committed to returning to a traditional budget calendar, by releasing another multi-year update in March 2021.
